Very friendly hosts, excellent communication. The location of the apartment is very central, and it's great to be close to the sea and the bathing platform. Safe area, quickly in the town center. The apartment and kitchen are well-equipped; we even found a sunshade.

We stayed 9 days in Michele's accommodation! We felt very comfortable, the apartment has everything needed for a stay (pots, plates, etc...). Communication with the host was always clear and very responsive. The surroundings are simply beautiful, and you can easily explore all of Ortigia on foot. Highly recommended.

Great place, we spent 3 nights – everything was super cozy and as described – just a bit of construction work on the street outside. Michele was very helpful and responded quickly, and it was so nice to arrive at the kitchen with a small pasta after a long journey! We loved living so close to the sea, truly a hidden gem. The only downside was the hard mattress and pillows.

The accommodation was perfect and as described. Communication with Michele was very easy and friendly. There were great tips for the area, and if we needed help, he always assisted immediately. The apartment is also well-equipped for a longer stay (in our case, 12 days), and the kitchen allows cooking every day. The location is very central on the island of Ortigia, but despite being on the ground floor, it's quiet. You can explore all major sights on foot. For anything outside the island, a car is recommended. Overall, our stay was wonderful, and there was nothing negative. We would book the accommodation again right away.

The Accommodation
This charming two-bedroom apartment is on the ground floor of a quiet, centrally situated street. The spacious and well-equipped kitchen offers plenty of room for cooking and dining. The bedroom, inspired by the magical atmosphere of "One Thousand and One Nights," features two small windows that do not let in direct daylight but open to the adjacent stairwell, providing refreshing air circulation during the summer. An elegant vaulted ceiling adds character to the apartment, creating a special, inviting atmosphere.
Ortigia is a must-see on any tour of Sicily! The vacation rental is ideal for a 3-4 day stay (but can also be booked longer).

Ortigia is a small island of about 1 square kilometer, easy to explore on foot. The apartment is located in the historic center, in the Giudecca district, the former Jewish quarter, just a few steps away from the Jewish baths.

About Us
Michele and Anja Farruggio are the hosts of Casa Failla. Michele, a native Sicilian, grew up in Italy before emigrating to Germany with his parents. Together with his wife Anja, they now live near Ulm, Germany, but still spend a lot of time in Italy both privately and for business.
